About Me…

There are two small events that had a big impact on my career aspirations when I was younger. The first involves my third grade teacher (Hi, Mrs. Hunt!). She told us on the first day of school that she was a horrible speller. If we caught mistakes in her spelling on the board, we could point them out to her for a piece of candy. I loved spelling and candy, so I read everything she wrote with an eagle eye. I joke that this was my first proofreading job.

The second event was a study group for a literature class in college. I was an English major, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with an English degree. I loved reading and writing, but not creative writing. During that study group, I developed a love for reviewing my classmates’ papers and offering suggestions to improve clarity.
